Your website setup comes complete with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). It is a common way to make websites more secure. Adding an SSL certificate to your site makes it safer for users to input data or download data because the transfer of that data is encrypted and harder to intercept. Google gives priority in ranking to sites that use SSL over sites that do not.
It also gives users confidence that your website is safe to visit. A little lock symbol will be present in the search bar of a browser whenever the website is accessed. Also, the website address will begin with https:// (instead of http://).
